Midgar Companion Rod Series is targeted towards fishing for any species in saltwater or freshwater, using larger nymphs, streamers, steelhead or salmon flies. We will say that the size of fish the rods will handl with great performance lies in the range up to around 8-12 kg, or equivalent up to about 20-25 lbs somewhere, but with great feel from fish from 1 lb and up.The series consists of 3 rods; a 9 feet 1 inch rod for casting weights around 200 grains +/- 10%, a 9 feet 3 inch rod for casting weights around 240 grains +/- 10%, and a 9 feet 5 inch rod for casting weights around 280 grains +/- 10%.If you use a lighter line, the rod will recover faster compared to the suggested middle weight, if you use a heavier line, the outer force will flex the rod more, thus creating a deeper flex. This will in turn slow down the recovery flex, giving you an impression of a slower, deeper action load. All of the rods have a medium action flex when the suggested middle weight for the rod models are used when performing a normal cast. If we use the same casting movement with our arm and body, and perform the cast with the same amount of force from our arm and body, as well as the movements are performed in the same speed, theoretically we will have these scenarios when casting; If you use a lighter line then the middle weight recommended, the rod will recover faster compared to the suggested middle casting weight. In order to load the rod more, you have to use a double haul and/or a faster casting rhythm, thus crating a deeper flex in the rod, which again build up a heavier load in the rod, which then again will give the line a higher speed.

Midgar Companion Rod Series
- smooth & powerfull fishing tools

I am a fly fisherman. I need to feel the line in my hand while casting, in particular when I am fishing under low light conditions. I need a tool that can bring my flies 25-30 meter out in a wide and powerfull loop, even if the line has to cut through wind right towards me at 7-8 m/s. I need to feel the tiniest grabs on small flies when cold on my fingers, yet I have to have enough power in the rod butt to hold and tame the beasts I am hunting for!

I needed fly fishing rods with unique qualities. The qualities I were looking for are put into Midgar Companion Rod Series. The Research & Development phase to finish the rods lasted for two years. With the finest materials and components there is available, together with great craftmanship and will, I got my 3 rod models I have been thinking about for years covered in Midgar Companion Rod Series...

Where there is will and technology, there is a way...
